Volunteer Benefit Act Enrollment

Rockland County Volunteer Benefit Act provides a benefit to the dependents of volunteer firefighters, volunteer emergency medical services personnel and auxiliary police officers killed in the line of duty.

Rockland County has an all-volunteer fire service that provides 24 hour a day, 7 day a week protection for you, your friends and your family.

There are many benefits to joining a volunteer fire department such as building your confidence, learning a new skill, building camaraderie by becoming part of a team, and serving your community.

Helicopter Emergency Lift Program (H.E.L.P.) provides air support to all Rockland County Police, Fire, and EMS agencies.

Rockland County Volunteer Firefighters' Association
The object of this Association is the advancement of the interests of the volunteer firefighters, fire companies and fire service, promoting and strengthening the bonds of unity, which should properly exist among the various fire departments and companies throughout Rockland County and to render assistance, encouragement, education and safety, and in general, everything that would tend to enhance the efficiency of volunteer firefighters and further their cause.

Rockland County Volunteer Fire Service Museum
To collect and accurately preserve valuable memorabilia and equipment relating to the local volunteer firefighter, ladies auxiliaries and other firemanic organizations of Rockland County.

Rockland County Firefighters Pipes & Drums
The RCFF Pipes and Drums are a non-profit, all volunteer band and rely solely on the support of the local Fire Departments and the public for support and donations. We have been serving the Firefighters of Rockland County, New York since 2004. We are available for all social functions, including but not limited to, fire department functions, funerals, weddings, promotional events, memorials, parades and other community related events.

Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY)
Provides information, education and training for the volunteer fire and emergency medical services throughout New York State.

Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen's Association
Mission is to provide a window of opportunity to support the volunteer fire service organizations and all member firefighters within the sixteen counties comprising the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fire Association and the public they serve.

New Jersey & New York Volunteer Firemen's Association
Official website for the association, a 501(c)3 non-profit group. Contains news and upcoming events.

New York State Association of Fire Chiefs (NYSAFC)
Supports and fosters public education of fire and injury prevention, promotes fire education through seminars and workshops, represents the emergency services before state and federal government officials, keeps members informed of pertinent news and information that affect the emergency services, and more

Delivers the highest quality, state of the art, and most comprehensive training, response, and technical assistance programs and services to emergency responders, local entities, and the citizens of New York State.

Contains information on the history of the memorial, ceremonies, selection criteria, meetings, etc.

New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO)
Provides daily awareness of emergency-related events and activities from throughout New York State.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
US Government site for emergency related topics, grants, disaster survivor assistance, etc.

Resident Emergency Planning Guides (Ready.gov)
Contains information for the public on what to do before, during, and after an emergency.

US Department of Homeland Security
Provides information to the public on various topics including flood maps and insurance, preparing for a disaster, and more.

Look for classes offered at the national academy in Maryland.

NFPA National Fire Protection Agency
Get information on standard rules and regulations for the fire service.

Look for details on health alerts issued.
