Public Meeting Notice for 12/22/2020
Notice is hereby given that a public meeting will be held by the Rockland County Shared Services Initiative Panel (RCSSIP) to discuss and vote on the Shared Services Plan on behalf of the Shared Services Panel on the 22nd day of December, 2020, at 4:00 P.M. at the Fire Training Center located at 35 Firemens Memorial Drive, Classroom 1, Pomona, New York 10970.
Because of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Emergency and State and Federal bans on large meetings or gatherings and pursuant to Governor Cuomo's Executive Order 202.1 issued on March 12, 2020, and all subsequent orders, suspending the in-person meeting requirement of the Open Meetings Law, the Meeting of the Rockland County Shared Services Initiative Panel scheduled for Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. will be held electronically via video conference instead of a public meeting open for the public to attend in person. The meeting will be live streamed on the Rockland County YouTube Channel.

Public Hearing for a Proposed Local Law (08/07/2018)
A public hearing will be held by the Legislature of Rockland County at its Legislative Chambers, 11 New Hempstead Road, New City, Rockland County, New York, on the 7th day of August, 2018, at 7:10 P.M., prevailing time, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing upon a proposed increase and improvement of facilities to Rockland County Sewer District No. 1 (the "District") in said County.
The improvement consists of various improvements to the main pump station, all as more fully described in the report and estimate of cost dated January, 2018, as prepared by the County engineers which has been filed with the County Legislature and which has been approved by the Board of Commissioners of the District.
The maximum estimated cost of such improvements is $11,500,000, which amount is to be assessed, levied and collected from the real property in the District in the same manner and at the same time as other County charges, on the basis of the equalized assessed value of lots and parcels of land. The annual expense of operation and maintenance for the project shall be assessed, levied and collected on the basis of unit charges, in the same manner and at the same time as the expense of the improvement is assessed, levied and collected.
The estimated cost of the improvements to a "typical property" in the District, as defined in the County Law, is $6.99 ($4.66 for a two-family home) for those in the Town of Ramapo and $3.70 ($5.33 for a two-family home) for those in the Town of Clarkstown. The estimated cost of hook-up fees to property owners of a "typical property", as defined in the County Law, is $150. The Board of Commissioners of the District has heretofore caused to be prepared and filed for public inspection with the Rockland County Clerk and the Clerk to the Rockland County Legislature, a detailed explanation of how such costs were computed, as incorporated in said report and estimate of cost prepared by and for the District.
