Transportation Resources
The Rockland County Department of Public Transportation oversees public transportation needs for Rockland County. We are the municipal operator of the Transport of Rockland (TOR) fixed-route public transit bus system and its complementary TRIPS Paratransit public transit bus system.
Our mission is to provide safe, courteous, efficient multi-modal public transportation services to meet the needs of the people of Rockland County – primarily through our TOR and TRIPS bus systems – but also through effective partnerships with private, municipal and regional mass transit operators and agencies.
TOR
Transport of Rockland (TOR) is Rockland County's local bus system of 10 routes, providing service along major corridors as well as with feeder loops within the County. TOR provides connections to Clarkstown Mini-Trans and other regional transit services such as Hudson Link, Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan), Short Line, and NJ Transit trains. All TOR buses are wheelchair accessible. See our ADA Policy for accessibility details and other ADA information.
TRIPS
What is TRIPS? TRIPS is Rockland County's paratransit bus service for residents with physical, mental health, developmental or intellectual disabilities or senior citizens who are aged 60 or over. In each of these cases, TRIPS service is reserved for individuals who are unable to use municipal, fixed-route bus service.
