Caring volunteers are the backbone of the Independence Project. Volunteers assist the elderly, disabled, homebound and veterans in Rockland County to attain a high level of independence by providing transportation form the client's home to and from medical appointments and pharmacies. Volunteers for the Independence Project can be any age with a valid driver's license.

HIICAP volunteers provide information, education and counseling about Medicare and other health insurances. Volunteers receive training under the auspices of the State Health Insurance Counseling Program.

The CHORE service utilizes volunteers to help Rockland County senior citizens and people with disabilities remain safe and secure in their homes. If you are available during the week and can perform minor household repairs, please consider this great opportunity.
