We educate, empower, and inspire Rockland County youth to make the world a better place. Our members and volunteers are the best there is and we are making preservation of our natural resources the priority. We need crew members. We need volunteers. We need YOU! Its Your World. Your Chance To Make It Better. The RCSC is a program of the Rockland County Youth Bureau.
Intern With Us
We are an environmental and conservation volunteer corps located in the greater Rockland County area. We engage and empower young people in various environmental and resiliency volunteer projects to grow our communities value for environmental stewardship and increase preparedness and response to disaster and emergency situations. We offer an awesome summer environmental internship from May to August called Rockland Conservation Corps, students learn about environmental conservation, build hiking trails, map storm drains, clean-up rivers, and do many other awesome conservation public service projects throughout our region. In addition, each student receives a $3,500.00 stipend for this super fun outdoor work. Upon successful completion of service, Corps members receive an education award in the amount of $1,459.26.
Volunteer
We carry out an awesome amount of volunteer opportunities throughout Rockland. Whether it be building hiking trails, food recovery, cleaning streams and citizen science or disaster preparedness and staffing service events. We need people like you to get it done! Contact us to connect with the finest team of volunteers Rockland has to offer. If we don't have an opportunity that suits your timing or interests, we'll refer you to one of our partners that may!
Join The Emergency Response Team (RCERT)
We manage, train, and lead the Rockland Community Emergency Response Team (RCERT). RCERT is a FEMA trained emergency and disaster response team focused on preparing the greater Rockland County region and its citizens for emergencies and disasters. In an era of global environmental problems such as global climate change it is important today that we not only mitigate these serious problems but also build resilience for the seemingly inevitable impacts of a warming climate. Join CERT and become trained in everything from light search and rescue to CPR and Disaster First Aid at no cost to you. The only thing you need to give is your time to volunteer. We are creating a more adaptive, resilient, and capable community preparing for everything and working to mitigate the impact of emergencies and disasters.
